The Priority Filter
When everything feels like a priority, ask: what will make the biggest difference, what genuinely needs attention now, and what can we stop, postpone or delegate?
When everything feels like a priority, it can be difficult for leaders to decide where to focus. A prioritisation tool can help them step back, assess what matters most and make deliberate choices about where to spend their time. If you’re supporting a leader or team who is struggling with competing demands, ask them to list their current priorities, then work through the list together: “Which of these will make the biggest difference?” “What genuinely needs attention now?” and “What could we stop, postpone or delegate?” The aim isn’t simply to organise a longer to-do list. It’s to help people make choices about what they will focus on — and what they won’t.
